State Historical Park Comfort Inn North Platte Area Facility Details Hours of Operation

The great outdoors don’t get much greater than Lake Maloney, an incredibly popular state recreation area south of North Platte. It features an enormous campground comprised of 132-acres and it is situated on a 1,000-acre lake. Facilities include 56 pads with 30 amp hookups, showers, dump station, water, boat ramps, swimming beach, picnic tables, grills and fish cleaning station. Camping is on a first-come first-serve basis. Maloney Reservoir is one of the many nearby attractions.

Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park. North Platte was the hometown of the man who made the Wild West famous–William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. The legacy of the life and times of this colorful showman, army scout and buffalo hunter lives on at Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park. Cody’s elegant Victorian house and huge barn reside on 25 acres of what was originally a 4,000-acre spread that Cody called Scout’s Rest Ranch. The barn, like the house, was built in 1886 and now features Wild West Show memorabilia, original posters, and a movie made of film clips taken at the time the show was touring the United States and Europe. Preservation of the house, barn, and original outbuildings is being handled the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

• March 24 – Memorial Day, Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Memorial Day – Labor Day, Every Day, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Labor Day – October 24, Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
